Amphitrite (Salacia) -
The wife of Poseidon,she was often angry due to her husbands weakness for women. She was a nereid (mermaid). Mother of Triton, a merman who could change shape at will. Also mother of Albion, Charybdis, Rhode and Benthesicyme.
Opinions as to who her parents are differ. Either Oceanus and Tethys or Nereus and Doris.
Aphrodite (Venus) -
Etruscan Turan. The Goddess of carnal love, the daughter of (again, it depends what you read) Uranus (Caelus),or Zeus and Dione. She is married to Haephestus (Vulcan), although she often turned to Ares (Mars) for comfort, resulting in Eros (Cupid). Also mother to Priapus (Mutinus Mutunus). She is one of the 12 Olympians.
Apollo (Apollo/Pheobus) -
Etruscan Aplu. Twin brother of Artemis and son of Zeus and Leto. A God of the Sun, light, music and poetry. Father of Asclepius.
Ares (Mars) -
Etruscan Maris. The God of War (the brutal side) The youngest child of Zeus and Hera and considered the father of the Amazons. He is brother to Aphrodite, Arge, Eileithyia, Erisand Hebe. He was also one of the 12 Olympians. He was said to be accompanied by his children into war: Deimos (terror), Phobos (fear), Enyo (horror) and Eris (strife). Although some sources state that Eris is Ares twin. Also the father of Anteros, Harmonia, Pallor and Eros.
Artemis (Diana) -
Etruscan Artume. A Goddess of the hunt and of the Moon. Twin to Apollo and daughter of Zeus and Leto. She is also the Goddess of wild animals and sometimes, of childbirth.
Athena (Minerva) -
Etruscan Menrva. The daughter of Zeus and Metis. Said to have sprung fully armed from Zeus' head. She is the Goddess of War, wisdom, peace and justice. One of the 12 Olympians.
Atlas -
A Titan. The son of Iapetus and Clymene. The brother of Prometheus, Epimetheus and Menoetius. Huband of Penelope. Father to Calypso, Hesperides, Pleiades, Hyas and a few others to be added at a later date.
Condemned to hold the heavens on his shoulders for his part in the revolt of the Titans.
Atropos (Morta) -
Meaning 'inflexible' or 'unbending', she is one of the three Fates. The daughter of Zeus and Themis. She is the fate responsible for cutting the thread of life.
Boreas (Aquilo/Aquilon) -
The God of the North Wind. The son of Eos and Astraeos.
Calliope -
Daughter of Zues and Mnemosyne and one of the nine Muses. She is the Muse of poetry and eloquence.
Clio -
Another of the nine Muses and also daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne. She is the Muse of historical poetry. The mother of Hyacinth.
There is an Oceanid by the same name.
Clotho/Klotho (Nona) -
Another of the Fates (Moreia).She is in charge of spinning the threads of life. Her name means 'spinner'.
Coeus -
One of the Titans. Husband/brother of Phoebe and father of Leto and Asteria.
Crius -
One of the Titans. Brother to Cronus.
Cronus (Saturnus) -
One of the Titans. Ruled the Titans before being banished to Tartarus. Son of Ouranos (heaven) and Gaia (earth). Husband of Rhea and father of Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Hades and Hestia.
Demeter (Ceres) -
An Earth and also Death Goddess.Also a Goddess of grain. Mother of Persephone. Daughter of Rhea and Cronos. One of the 12 Olympians.
Dionysus (Libus/Bacchus) -
Etruscan Fufluns. A God of Wine and intoxication as well as vegetation. Son of Zeus and Semele. One of the 12 Olympians.
Eileithyia -
A Goddess of childbirth. Daughter of Zeus and Hera.
Eos (Aurora/Matuta) -
Etruscan Thesan. The daughter of Hyperion and Theia. Sister of of Helios (Sun) and Selene(Moon). She is known as 'Mother of the Four Winds'. She is the Goddess of the Dawn.
Epimetheus -
Meaning 'hindsight', he is brother to Prometheus, Atlas and Menoetius.
Erato -
Muse of lyre playing. The daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne.
Eros (Cupido/Amor) -
A God of love. Although he does represent all aspects of love, his speciality his homosexual love. He is accompanied by Pothos (longing) and Himeros (desire). The son of Aphrodite and Ares.
Euterpe -
Muse of lyrical and tragic poetry.
Gaia (Terra/Tellus) -
Mother Goddess. The first God. She came forth from Chaos. She is mother to the Titans (Coeus, Cronus, Crius, Rhea, Themis, Mnemosyne, Phoebe, Hyperion, Iapetus, Oceanus, Theia, and Tethys), Uranus (who became her husband, the Furies, the Cyclopes, the giants and the tree nymphs. She is known as a Goddess of the earth, marriage, death and the afterlife.
Hades (Pluto/Dis Pater/Orcus) -
Etruscan Aita. The God Of The Underworld. The son of Cronus and Rhea. Brother to Zeus and Poseidon, Hestia, Hera and Demeter. Husband to Persephone.
Hebe (Iuventas/Juventus) -
A Goddess of youth. The daughter of Zeus and Hera. She was the cup-bearer to the Gods before being replaced by Ganymede. The wife of Heracles after he was deified.
Hecate (Trivia) -
Hecate was a Goddess of many things. She was the Goddess of the dark side of the Moon, a fertility Goddess and a Goddess of the Underworld. She is also known as a Goddess of magic and witches.
The daughter of Perses and Asteria.
Helios (Sol) -
A Sun God. The son of Hyperion and Theia. Brother to Selene and Eos.
Hephaestus (Vulcanus) -
Etruscan Sethlans. The God of creative fire and blacksmiths. Married to Aphrodite. Son of Hera and Zeus. Said to have deformed legs. One of the 12 Olympians.
Hera (Iuno/Juno) -
Etruscan Uni. The wife and sister of Zeus, she is often seen as the jealous wife. She is a Goddess of childbirth and the Queen of the Gods. The daughter of Cronus and Rhea. Mother of Hephaestus, Ares, Hebe and Eileithyia.
Hermes (Mercurius/Mercury) -
The messenger of the Gods and a fertility God. The son of Zeus and the nymph Maia. Also considered a God of travellers and theives. One of the 12 Olympians.
Hestia (Vesta) -
The Goddess of the hearth. Daughter of Rhea and Cronus.
Hyperion -
Husband of Theia and father of Helios.
Lachesis (Decima) -
One of the three Fates (the other two being Clotho and Atropos). She is the Fate in charge of measuring the thread of life and assiging destiny.
Metis -
The daughter of Tethys and Oceanos. She is sometimes known as a Goddess of wisdom and is the mother of Athena.
Mnemosyne -
A Titan and the mother of the Muses. Also a Goddess of Memory.
Oceanos -
The son Uranus and Gaia. A sea God.
Pan (Faunus) -
The God of music and travellers. Often seen as half human and half goat. The son of either Hermes or Apollo and Penelope.
Persephone (Proserpina) -
The daughter of Demeter and Zeus. The wife of Hades.
Prometheus -
Son of Clymene and Iapetus. A Titan.
Poseidon (Neptunus/Neptune)-
Etrusan Nethuns. The God of the Sea. The son of Rhea and Cronus. Husband of Amphitrite and one of the 12 Olypmians.
Rhea (Ops/Magna Mater) -
An Earth and fertility Goddess. She is the wife (and sister) of Cronus. She is mother to Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter and Hera. She is a Titan.
Selene (Luna) -
The daughter of Hyperion and Theia, she is a Goddess of the Moon.
Theia -
Meaning 'Divine'. The wife and sister of Hyperion, she is a Titan. Mother to Eos, Selene and Helios.
Tethys -
A Goddess ofthe sea. Daughter of Uranus and Gaia. The wife of Oceanos.
Uranus (Caelus) -
The son and husband of Gaia, he is a sky God. Father of the Titans.
Zeus (Iovis/Jupiter) -
Etruscan Tinia. A sky God. The son of Cronus and Rhea. The brother and husband of Hera. The 'King of the Gods' and one of the 12 Olympians.
