aha the guided meditations!
Not something Ive have a huge academic experience of, although I have a feeling I am guilty of participating in pathworkings without being too aware of it... when I get a sec Id like to read up more on this subject.
In a book on Bardry that I have, it explains something that sounds very much like pathworking, without actually naming it thus. It describes how a bard can reach his imbas/awen through this guided meditation technique
From what I can gather there are different levels of pathworking, from simple visualisations through to interaction with certain characters, be they mythical or people from the 'real' world. I think a key to pathworking is let your imagination loose and try not to be anchored to the mundane world we live in.
Like I said above I believe I have undertaken a pathworking in which I actually spoke to Taliesin himself... am I mad?? probably, but it gave me a solution to a problem which had been a constant issue for a while
Im looking forward to hearing some more views on this, I realise pathworking is a huge subject and is open to so many different interpretations!
